Liga MB Round 2 of Regular Season

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Liga MB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 2 most important game was a victory of Cojute over Santiagueno 65-58 on Thursday night. Puerto Rican guard Hector Maldonado (185-1991) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Troidell Carter (206-1991, college: Slippery Rock) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Darius Daniels (183-1997) replied with 21 points and 4 assists for Santiagueno.
The game in Ahuachapan was also worth to mention about. Santa Tecla played at the court of Ahuachapan. Santa Tecla did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-61. Eliezer Sanchez had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Edwin Cornejo chipped in 16 points during the contest. American-Laos guard Kadeim Jones (191-1999, college: UWG) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
The game between Salvadorenos and Santa Ana in San Salvador on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Salvadorenos outscored guests from Santa Ana 104-56. Ibrahima Traore notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 22 points and 22 rebounds by Daylon Potts did not help to save the game for Santa Ana. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

In the last game of round 2 winless A.Lobos lost to undefeated San Salvador on the road 66-94.



Salvadorenos - Santa Ana 104-56

The game between Salvadorenos and Santa Ana in San Salvador on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Salvadorenos outscored guests from Santa Ana 104-56. Salvadorenos dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 36. Salvadorenos forced 28 Santa Ana turnovers and outrebounded them 54-36 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Salvadorenos looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Santa Ana's players. Naturalized Mali power forward Ibrahima Traore (208-2005, college: Utah) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Diego Minero (187-2007) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Salvadorenos players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 22 rebounds by American guard Daylon Potts (196, college: Simpson, CA) did not help to save the game for Santa Ana. Luis Portal (188-1986) added 15 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Santa Tecla dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ahuachapan's 30. They outrebounded Ahuachapan 44-33 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Eliezer Sanchez had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Edwin Cornejo (195-1999) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. American-Laos guard Kadeim Jones (191-1999, college: UWG) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Markos Samuels (196, college: Arkansas Bapt.) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

No shocking result in a game when San Salvador crushed at home A.Lobos 94-66 on Thursday. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to A.Lobos' 22. San Salvador forced 25 A.Lobos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized American point guard Marquise Mosley (170-1997, college: Biola, CA, agency: Crossover Management) notched 29 points and 4 steals to lead the effort and American guard Giancarlo Toledo-Rivera (185, college: UC Santa Cruz) supported him with 19 points. Even a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds by naturalized American center Marc Montavious (202-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) did not help to save the game for A.Lobos. American guard Jerome Savoy (185, college: Pfeiffer) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
